Hi, I’m Ritesh Nayak. Musician for over 30+ years. I Sing, Indian classical music among other things. I also play guitar, drums, some piano & harmonium. I’ve been lucky to be part of the local music scene both back in India, as a child, and now here in California.
I continue to learn Hindustani Music from Sri Nachiketa Yakkundi in Cupertino for the last 7 years.
Meet your instructor
Here’s a short video of a musical play set in the universe of Akbar and Birbal. I’m singing with my group behind the dancers. I was also the music director for the production and worked with the dance teams & fellow musicians on choreography and transitions among other things.

1. Hindustani Shashtriya Sangeet 101
Classes: weekly morning or evening

Learn the basics of Hindustani Raag Sangeet
Basic vocal techniques, Riyaaz, introduction to a few Raags,
Devotional songs - bhajans, abhangs, arti geet etc in relevant raags
Side intros to different genres of Indian folk and classical music
2. Bollywood singing 101
Classes: bi-weekly evening

Vocal warmups and breathing techniques used by the best Bollywood playback singers
Proper vowel sounds and enunciation for clear Hindi/Urdu diction
How to sing along with and follow Indian classical ragas
Simple riffs, runs, and phrases to ornament your singing
3.Beginners Bollywood Guitar
If ever wanted to pick up bollywood guitaring, this is probably right for you. You’ll learn simplified versions of famous guitar parts, so even beginners can start playing popular Bollywood songs right away. We’ll break things down step-by-step while still retaining that vibrant Bollywood flavor.
Bring your own guitar or one can be provided on request. Just come ready to immerse yourself in learning guitar and enjoying the music you make. Here’s a cover video I made of one of my favorite songs.

If you’re close by, I also do in-person visits for classes. However, that comes at an additional $35 per class. No zoom classes at the moment.
Minimalist Music Production Camp
I also run an occasional minimalist music production camp. In 2 hours you learn the Fundamentals of Audio Recording, Mixing, and Publishing with your existing equipment, in one Intensive Session with a peer group.
